I'm off and running with my eye on Cerebus issue 300. Almost done with Book 1. I've developed a much greater respect for this first book on what may be my 3rd or 4th reading. You can see Sim's drawing technique, lettering, and story development explode in a short span of time. You also see his first misogynistic dabblings, sadly, when the Red Sophia character suddenly becomes a greedy social climber after being a self-posessed warrior for so many issues. But in general, Book 1 is an excellent look at the maturation (so to speak) of a solo artist who is drawing, writing, lettering and publishing his own monthly book.
